Shane MacDonald • Simcoe News • May 30, 2017 – Flato Development Inc. has given Matthew House Hospice’s “Walking the Journey Together” capital campaign a big boost.
Flato is pledging $150,000 to help build a new facility, to be called the Matthews House Centre of Excellence and located at 131 Wellington St. E. in Alliston.
Shakir Rehmatullah, president of Flato Developments Inc., said they made the donation because they believe in building communities.
Rehmatullah noted Flato has plans for subdivisions in Beeton, which he says are in the preliminary planning phase.
“What they’re doing is definitely going to benefit the community, and we want to be part of it,” Rehmatullah said of Matthews House.
The donation pledge has secured Flato the naming opportunity for a community room on the main floor of the future Centre of Excellence.
In addition, Flato will be the presenting sponsor for the sixth annual Matthews House Hospice Gala, which is taking place Sept. 29 at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre. Tickets are $150 per person and can be purchased online at matthewshousehospice.ca.
Flato has developments in Dundalk, Caledon, Brampton, Markham and Vaughan. For more information, visit www.myflato.com.
