Community Service

At Flato® Developments, we believe that building communities is more than just building homes. That is why we strive to create dynamic and vibrant neighbourhoods while giving back to the community.

Since its founding in 2005, Flato has been committed to supporting charities and causes in places where we build and operate. From giving to local hospitals and clinics to promoting arts and culture, we are dedicated to positive change in our communities.

In 2020, Flato donated $1 million to South East Grey Community Health Centre, a charity organization providing health care services and programs to the residents of Grey County, Ontario. This gift will help build a full service health clinic in Dundalk, expanding access to primary care, mental health, social and home care services to area residents. A proud supporter of the Stephenson Memorial Hospital in New Tecumseth, Flato pledged $50,000 towards its Transforming Stevenson Campaign.

When the COVID-19 pandemic began, Flato immediately recognized the need for personal protection equipment in hospitals, long-term care centres and municipalities. To support frontline care workers, Flato donated over 50,000 masks and 5,000 hand sanitizers to organizations across Ontario. Additionally, we gave $100,000 to local Ontario food banks to support the increased need for their services.

As a Markham citizen and active member of the community, we are proud to partner with and provide support to the Flato® Markham Theatre, Markham Stouffville Hospital and The Shakir Rehmatullah Cancer Centre.
